Natal is the safest capital city in Brazil. With an 850,000 population and a vehicle fleet of only 120,000 cars, the city enjoys a calm way of life, while offering all services of a vibrant touristic hub. Personal security is not a problem and it is generally safe to walk through the touristic part of the city if sensible precautions are taken. Property crime is at a similar low level.
