IGAC Travel Grant Policy
IGAC Travel Grant Policy
IGAC has traditionally had some funds for travel grants for IGAC sponsored and related events. Due to the limited nature of these grants, and the need for IGAC to report deliverables and outcomes from the IGAC Project Grants, IGAC has developed the following travel grant policy limiting travel grants to IGAC sponsored and related events.
IGAC Working groups and activities that are holding an IGAC-specific workshop, training school, or conference, with direct IGAC-related outcomes, can apply for travel funding from IGAC from January to April of each year. More detailed plans can be sent at a later date. Co-sponsored workshops will also be considered if there is significant IGAC presence.
IGAC will divide the available funding between these activities on a need basis. The majority of the funding must go to early career researchers or researchers from LMIC, though some deviation from this is permissible if the person is mission-critical.
Out of the available participant support funds from IGAC’s core grants, IGAC can only pay for flights, hotels, and registration fees. Travel grant awardees must fill in all required forms and read the IGAC travel grant guidelines in full and obey the rules stated, or they may not be reimbursed. Any questions will need to be directed to langley@igacproject.org.
IGAC is also able to provide letters of support for leaders of these IGAC workshops seeking external funding.
